Prayer Info Week of 2/27

Information from weekly prayer meetings:

Acts 3: Healing of the crippled beggar by Peter and John; Peter’s speech to the crowd

It would have been easy for Peter and John to give the beggar a few coins and go on about their day. Instead they meet this man’s needs physically and spiritually. God then used this healing to let Peter share about Jesus with the crowd.

Do we seek to meet the deeper needs of those around us or are we just meeting the superficial needs?

How does this change our attitude towards poverty and other world issues that have their roots in deeper issues?

Pray that God would give you the eyes to see deeper into problems and meet the underlying needs of those around you and those around the world.

Other things to pray about this week:

Pray for the Rob Emanuel, the new mayor in Chicago, that he would make good decisions for the city.

Pray for Brandon’s Dad, as he is currently looking for a job.

Pray for Brian this week as he is in Wisconsin helping with an InterVarsity outreach event. Pray also for his family as they are making the trip with him.

Continue to pray for our outreach week at the end of March. Pray that God would be preparing hearts.

Pray for everyone as we complete all the midterms, projects and homework that is due before spring break.

Praise God for the lives he touched through those who were willing to do contact evangelism. Consider going with Brian sometime this semester.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 4:6-7

Purpose of Prayer Blog

The purpose of this blog is to give you another resource to utilize in your prayer life. I trust that the prayer calendar has been helpful in encouraging you to be in prayer. I felt that it would be good to have a more current list of prayer suggestions. Since I only put the prayer calendar together once a month, it is hard to include many recent events and keep you all up to date on what is being discussed in weekly prayer meetings. I intend to put this sheet together once a week. Along with topics from prayer meetings, I will include any prayer requests from the chapter, as well as, world or local events that need prayer. If you have any prayer requests or have something you would like to be included feel free to e-mail me at jmschwab@purdue.edu. I pray that God will continue to grow us in prayer and unite us as a community of believers.

God Bless,
Jared
